As an art teacher, in a small but inspiring book, Guiding Free Expression in Children's Art, Helen Merritt states:

Creativity must be a growing, developing phenomenon in which the capacity to approach problems intuitively is fused with knowledge to carry forth whatever is conceived and with drive enough, on the part of the creative individual, to persist.
